Actually...I think the proverbs need not be contradictory....
I mean, time waits for no one. It goes on, doing its job, healing wounds little by little as it passes. I won't hurry up because you ask it to, it won't stop healing because you are not ready. So without waiting for your readiness or approval, it does what it is meant to do - heal.
Sowwie, it's been vacation-prep, vacation, back to work and slogging late thanks to deadlines and then moving houses... I'm a little blank thanks to all that now.
Oh oh..my 1st time commenting here..n ur going to think im DUH. I don’t see wats ironic abt these proverbs or even how they are related in a contradictory manner! They are both about time and make sense in their own ways.
I is suffering from blogger's block and is very bijhee with work ... getting home every night drained like a squeezed sponge... howdy been? You no blog either... all well?
announce HERE that you're on break. it'll serve two purposes: - ppl'll stop wondering why u're not blogging. - you'll come up with something to write the next day.
haan... for every proverb, there's an equal and opposite proverb.
ReplyDeleteSee, Rayshma has given Newton's third law of motion a whole new meaning!
ReplyDelete:D
I dont see the irony...
ReplyDeleteHaha! Brilliant observation, and analogy comment by Miss M.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant find :) and lol @ rayshma's observation :)
ReplyDeleteBut .. since time doesnt wait, it helps in healing. Otherwise you would be stuck up with the wound and could never move on...
ReplyDeleteBut these two aren't opposites, are they? They're meant for two very different kind of situations. Like La Vida Loca, I can't see the irony either.
ReplyDeleteOf course time can't wait for anybody, he has got to fix somebody else up. Have you ever seen an on-duty doctor in a public hospital sitting still?
ReplyDeleteu added to the list of contradictory proverbs, eh? :|
ReplyDeleteAh! Good catch!
ReplyDeleteI came across a set of conflicting sayings sometime back..and can't get it back in spite of straining my peanut brain as much as I can! :P

honnnnnnnnnnnn
ReplyDeleteAh I think I know what you meant.
ReplyDeleteYou mean if we apply both the proverbs to the SAME situation..right?
Then yes. Its ironic.
ok i want new post to comment on now!
ReplyDeleteAnd they say Time is money but tell you not Money is not everything.
ReplyDeleteAnd lol I agree with Rayshma too :)
arre post nahi toh comments ke replies toh karo! :P
ReplyDeleteSorry y'all, had a lot on my plate. And I was trying to make some obscure point but it's lost now.
ReplyDeleteNote to self: next time you have a brainwave, write the goddamn thing down clearly.
@ IHM: So Time equals nothing and life is futile? :D
And you have vamoosed again w/o a trace....
