English Funnies

The Brits seem to have some weird fascination with body parts.... every other pub I know of is named somebody's arms or somebody's head... take a sampler:

The Weavers Arms

The Old King's Head

The Nag's Head

The Drovers Arms

  1. its good still.. lest they start using other unmentionable body parts.. would be a bit gross to enter "The Royal Arse"

  2. Now now... that really is taking it too far... I have brit friends and I'd hate to offend them :) Besides... Brits are the prim and proper people as we know them... no risk of them ever using unmentionables :)

  3. The base form of most Brit names are derived from body parts. Encoded in some cases, pretty direct in the others.
    "Arse"-nal
    Man-"chest"-er
    "Liver"-pool

    etc etc.
